Haltemprice Leisure Centre swimming

We have a 25m main indoor pool and a learner pool which provide a wide range of activities and sessions to suit all ages and abilities.  From swimming lessons and pool parties to lane swimming and aquafit – we have something for everyone!

Our village style changing area includes disabled, family, group and individual changing rooms.  We have disabled and individual showers and also a communal shower area.  The lockers are operated by a £1 coin which is returned after use.

For your hygiene benefit, we operate a no shoes policy in the changing village. Shoes can be removed in the entrance to the changing village or blue overshoes can be purchased from reception.

For information and advice on children in the swimming pool, please view the Child Admission Policy.

Both swimming pools and the changing facilities have been totally refurbished.  This includes new heating, lighting and ventilation, showers and toilets, all retiled throughout and brought up to modern standards. However, the biggest impact will be the addition of a moveable floor in the main pool that will allow us to complete re-vamp the swimming programme.

What does a moveable floor do?

As part of the redevelopment a movable floor is being installed in the deep end of the main pool, this will allow us to adjust the depth of the deep end from 2 meters up to the water surface.

In essence, this allows us to set the depth of the pool allowing us the potential of two shallow ends.  This would allow for an increase in the number of swimming lessons we can teach at any one time or, alternatively, have an aqua aerobics class taking place in the ‘old’ deep end meaning customers still have full use of the shallow end of the pool.
