STA Swimming Teaching Course
Haltemprice Leisure Centre regulary hold courses to gain an STA Certificate in Beginners Swimming Teaching. The cost is £220.00 (£20.00 deposit on booking) this will include the log book and examination fee. Candidates must be 16 or over on the date of the examination. Candidates should possess a NPLQ qualification or RLSS Rescue Test for Teachers by the examination date. A RLSS course will be held during the course with an additional cost of £40.00 for those who need this qualification. The course will enable you to teach up to 10 beginners and assist in larger classes or advanced skills under supervision. Candidates are assessed during the course and take a practical teaching examination and a written examination at the end of the course.
NPLQ Courses
Applicants must be 16 years plus and a competent swimmer (timed swims will be involved in assessment). The course will include First aid, pool operating procedures, health and safety, water work, rescue techniques, timed swims, spinal cord management etc
